Here are three maps of the Saskatchewan River, two with detailed views of the proposed hydro-dam’s reservoir location.
The first map, below, illustrates the present state of the area and the Saskatchewan River.
The Forks Axis
The Forks Axis is a possible site for the proposed hydro project and is located up-stream from the Nipawin Hydro Station. The “green” highlighted area shows where flooding would occur to support the reservoir if this site is chosen.
1981 Axis
The proposed preferred site for the Pehonan Project is the 1981 Axis, which is located on the James Smith Cree Nation reserve land and up-stream from the Nipawin Hydro Station. The “blue” highlighted area is where flooding would occur to support the reservoir if this site is selected.
